AWS Launches Second Infrastructure Region in Canada
Starting December 20th, developers, startups, entrepreneurs, and enterprises, as well as government, education, and nonprofit organizations, will have greater choice for running their applications and serving end users from AWS data centers located in Canada.

Qlik's Mozaic acquisition adds decentralized data management
Qlik revealed the acquisition of Mozaic Data to better enable customers to take a decentralized approach to data management with data viewed as a product. Mozaic, a startup still in its beta testing stage, is developing an AI-driven platform that enables users to distribute data management across different domains within their organizations rather than centralize data management with a single team of data experts.

IBM to buy StreamSets and webMethods from Software AG for $2.3B
The tech giant will shell out € 2.13 billion ($2.33 billion) to bring the StreamSets and webMethods platforms into its fold. In October, Software AG launched Streamsets and webMethods as its Super Ipaas business. An integration platform as a service (iPaaS) is a cloud-based system used to create new applications or to orchestrate data flows. (Source: cio.com)

Data Management, as a concept, began in the 1960s, with ADAPSO (the Association of Data Processing Service Organizations) forwarding Data Management advice, with an emphasis on professional training and quality assurance metrics.
